Sam Boardman Elementary would like to express gratitude to two organizations that will make a positive impact on learning in our classrooms for years to come. The Umatilla Electric Cooperative and the Tillamook Community Enrichment Committee have been instrumental in securing a new laminator to enhance teaching and learning in our school.
Laminators are valuable additions to any school, but the effects on learning can be greater than you may think at first glance. Teachers use them to create durable materials, support student creativity, and help organize classroom processes. Students use and reuse laminated items such as phonics cards, task cards, class labels, and other instructional materials every day.
"We’re thrilled to support Sam Boardman Elementary with tools that help educators create vibrant, long-lasting materials for their classrooms. It’s all about giving teachers what they need to make learning engaging and accessible for every student."
Jamie Stewart, Tillamook
Teachers use laminators in many ways and for many purposes. Laminated materials can be reused by multiple students, saving both time and resources. Educators also use laminators to preserve and display student work, including artwork, worksheets, and written responses - many of which proudly line the hallways of Sam Boardman Elementary.
In addition to classroom use, laminators support school-wide organization and safety. Lamination protects schedules, classroom expectations, and other materials our students rely on daily.
Umatilla Electric Cooperative provided $500 towards the laminator purchase
Tillamook Community Enrichment Committee provided $2,000 toward the laminator purchase
“Our staff is extremely grateful for the community support demonstrated by these generous donations.”
