Free sports physicals for RJSHS students! If your Pirate is planning on participating in sports this year, come on down and get their physical exam done for no cost! Physicals are REQUIRED every two years in order to participate. Dr. Earl (Family Health Associates) and his staff will be at Riverside Friday, August 5th from 2pm to 4pm. If you were at one of our Boardman schools today you may have noticed the additional presence of Boardman Police Department during morning arrival. There was no risk of harm for students and staff, but we felt it important to have law enforcement visible as a reassurance to everyone as they wrap up their investigation from last week. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to follow up with your building administration or the SRO.

This morning MCSD received report of a possible school threat in Boardman that was posted on a social media platform. As soon as we became aware of the threat we had all three buildings go into a “Secure” protocol while Boardman Police Department investigated the threat.
A “Secure” protocol closes the buildings from outside entry but allows staff and students to continue normal school day activities, with the exception of anything that occurs outside the building.
Boardman Police Department have located the person of interest and determined that it was not a viable threat. As of 7:50 a.m., all buildings were released from the “Secure” status.
MCSD appreciates the speed and efficiency that everyone displayed as they responded to this situation.
MCSD will be closed on May 30th in observance of Memorial Day. Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day. It began as a way to honor soldiers who died in the Civil War, but now honors all U.S. veterans who have died while serving in the military.

Parents / Guardians can access the teacher request forms at the main office in each elementary school beginning May 16, 2022. Request forms will need to be turned in on or before May 27th to be considered. Please remember requests are not automatically guaranteed as we must consider the individual academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs of each student and the overall well-being of all students.
